Hours Disappear Launch- iOTA
iOTA burst onto the Australian music scene in the late ‘90s, establishing a devoted live following through relentless touring and utterly captivating performances. One man, a guitar, candles, those songs and that voice.
After being “discovered” busking at Bellingen markets, he was signed and his debut album was released. Further albums were released, tours upon tours embarked upon, but after this initial arc in the music biz, iOTA closed the chapter and hung up his guitar to take time to regather, turning his his talents to theatre and film. A starring role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch; Rocky Horror as Dr. Frank-N-Furter; co-writing Smoke & Mirrors (winning three Helpmann Awards) and infamously became the “Doof Warrior” in Mad Max, Fury Road.
The fans still missed and requested his early work despite those early songs remaining off streaming services.
This is all about to change with the release of iOTA’s first fully acoustic album, Hours Disappear.
Classic songs, such as ‘Bitter Wine’, ‘Home Song’ and ‘Come Back For Me’ have been recorded in the fashion that they were heard first – solo and acoustic; self produced; with iOTA playing all that is heard. Just as important is the debut of new material – ‘Silver Train’ and ‘Same Three Words’ are ethereal, uplifting, heavy hitting and emotive. An instant classic, Hours Disappear will be performed live across Australia
